The XEM6310MT USB 3.0 FPGA modules, leveraging the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface for downloading and communication, deliver transfer rates that exceed 330 Mbytes/s. Opal Kelly’s device is based on the Xilinx Spartan-6 LXT FPGA—the XEM6310MT-LX45T based on the XC6SLXT45, and the -LX150T (available on special order) based on the XC6SLXT150. Along with the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 FPGA configuration, there’s integrated DDR2 SDRAM, power supplies, and configuration flash. Four high-speed serial gigabit transceivers incorporated into the modules feature support for PCI Express, DisplayPort, HD-SDI, XAUI, Aurora, SATA, and others operating up to 3.125 Gbits/s. When used with Xilinx’s Aurora protocol, the module can be used to implement customized lightweight, high-speed communications over coax or fiber cables. The company’s multi-platform FrontPanel SDK and application help provide turnkey USB integration when using its programmer’s interface and USB drivers.
