Demonstration Creates Temporary LPWAN with 1,000 Sensor Nodes

Nov. 12, 2014
At Electronica (Hall A4, Booth 259), Future Electronics will be demonstrating a joint project with Semtech and Microchip Technology—an ISM-band Internet of Things (IoT) network using LoRa technology to provide wireless connectivity across Munich.

At Electronica (Hall A4, Booth 259), Future Electronics will be demonstrating a joint project with Semtech and Microchip Technology—an ISM-band Internet of Things (IoT) network using LoRa technology to provide wireless connectivity across Munich. Up to 1,000 free and fully functional wireless sensors nodes will be available to qualified engineers visiting the booth, providing a standard interface to connect automatically to the nearest available gateway in the temporary low-power wide-area network (LPWAN). The live network will provide a practical demonstration of an RF infrastructure that can be achieved with low-power devices over a wide area of coverage. Visitors will also be able to take part in a “Collect, Control, Communicate” challenge with prizes awarded to anyone who can solve a specifically modified Rubik’s cube.
