OKI Electric Industry Co. has purchased test company Verigy's V93000 Port Scale RF solution to test its highly integrated wireless communications devices. OKI said it picked the solution for its performance advantages as well as the reliability and scalability of the V93000 platform. The platform tests emerging high-integration semiconductor devices that contain integrated RF, mixed signal, digital, power management and embedded or stacked memory. OKI is one of the first companies to adopt the Verigy Port Scale RF solution, which is currently used by eight of the top 10 RF semiconductor suppliers to develop devices. These devices incorporate new 3G and 4G technologies like UWB and WiMAX, as well as standard technologies like Bluetooth, GPS navigation and ZigBee. "Port Scale RF solution meets all of our challenging requirements for performance, cost and support," Katsumi Onaru, General Manager, ATP Manufacturing Division for OKI, said in a statement. "The inherent flexibility of the V93000 platform means it will also meet our customers' future requirements for their next-generation devices as well." The solution delivers high-throughput RF instruments with leading multi-site efficiency; proven performance that improves device yields and quality of test; and scalable, parallel test.
