For barometric and absolute range sup to 30 psia, long-term stability is ensured by the inclusion of a getter material in the evacuated reference chamber. The material acts as a sponge to absorb stray gas molecules as they are released from the surface of the reference chamber. This ensures the integrity of the vacuum reference over time.
