Based on a proven mechanism, this new folding, T-handle-style latch provides 6.4 mm of consistent, pull-up compression, reportedly sufficient to enable enclosure gaskets to tightly and effectively seal out contaminants, as well to help eliminate vibration and reduce noise levels. Two styles are available: one version has a mounting cup to give the outer panel a flush surface; and the other, a handle-only version is for custom designed panels. In the former, the T-handle folds down into the cup so that nothing protrudes from the surface. The T-handle is designed to provide a secure grip, even for gloved hands, with a shuttered keylock concealed under the folded T-handle to restrict access. The latch is also available in a non-locking version for quick, un-restricted access. More information on the new compression latch is available from David Fusina at SOUTHCO, Concordville, PA. (610) 361-6521.
