Designed to protect both analog and digital signal lines from ESD transients, the SP05xC series transient voltage suppressors (TVSs) in a tiny, chip-scale package are suitable for use in hand-held and portable devices. In addition to a small footprint, the components feature capacitance of 39 pF, a 12V clamping voltage, low leakage current, and sub-nanosecond response time. The arrays can sustain ESDs of 18 kV per IEC standard and 30 kV as per the human body model (HBM) and can handle both uni-directional and bi-directional signals up to 5 Vdc with a 0.65 mm bump pitch. Available in packages measuring from 1.8 mm x 1.1 mm with 4, 8 or 16 diode channels, prices range from $0.20 to $0.83 each/100,000. LITTLEFUSE, INC., Des Plaines, IL. (800) 999-9445.
