Addressing gaming rigs and high-end peripherals, the Monsoon II Lite debuts as a thermoelectric cooling system for both Intel Core 2 Duo and AMD K8/AM2 CPUs. The system provides sub-ambient cooling, as opposed to air and water CPU coolers that cool a system as low as room temperature, i.e., 72°C. Monsoon II Lite-equipped systems can be cooled even lower than room temperature. The thermoelectric cooler concept, more commonly found in aerospace applications, has not been incorporated for cooling CPUs due to condensation and power consumption associated problems. The company resolved these issues via a software-controlled system, which regulates the entire system to eliminate any possibility of condensation and reduces power consumption. It is able to cool down even the most over-clocked CPU by a minimum of 10°C. Additionally, the system includes an alarm to alert users to shut down the system. List price for both Intel and AMD models is $99. VIGOR GAMING, City of Industry, CA. (866) 907-3536.
