Cost Effective VCXOs Are Low On Jitter

March 4, 2004
Designed for use in PLL systems in ATM/SONET/SDH applications requiring low jitter and tight stability, the V300/400/500 series voltage controlled crystal oscillators (VCXOs) feature jitter figures of less than 1 psRMS for output

Designed for use in PLL systems in ATM/SONET/SDH applications requiring low jitter and tight stability, the V300/400/500 series voltage controlled crystal oscillators (VCXOs) feature jitter figures of less than 1 psRMS for output frequencies below 200 MHz and less than 3 psRMS at frequencies above 200 MHz. The 5 mm x 7.5 mm, surface-mount components provide frequency ranges up to 800 MHz and are available with LVPECL (V300 series), CMOS (V400 series), and LVDS (V500 series) outputs. Other features include 3.3V operation, an inclusive frequency tolerance of ±20 ppm, an enable/ disable function, and an operating temperature range from 0°C to 70°C. Multiplication schemes are not used in this oscillator design for output frequencies up to 200 MHz. Prices start at $16 each/1,000. CONNOR-WINFIELD CORP., Aurora, IL. (630) 851-4722.
