Performing continuous level measurement in all hazardous environments, the RPM resistive-chain, level-measurement sensors are custom built to meet application requirements in the chemical, oil, food processing, and waste-treatment industries. They are available in lengths up to 6 meters with a variety of mounting configurations. Output options include resistive chain or loop-powered 4 mA to 20 mA. The components employ a single moving part, an anti-stick float that moves up and down a vertical stem. A permanent magnet within the float activates a series of reed switches and resistors inside the stem, after which the sensor converts the total resistance value into a voltage or current that is proportional to the level of the liquid.
