The GS8000 EMI shielding gaskets target applications that require conformability, reliable inter-cavity shielding, and high conductivity at low compression. They feature a low-closure force, making them suitable for use with flexible housing materials. From a typical starting thickness of 1 mm, less than 3.4 N/cm of pressure is required to compress the gaskets to a thickness of 0.4 mm. When compressed to 0.4 mm, dc resistance is less than 10 m? for a 19 mm2 gasket and shielding effectiveness is greater than 90 dB. The gaskets can handle a variation in gap height up to 0.2 mm while maintaining performance. Consisting of a nickel-plated base polymer backed with a foil layer, the gaskets are custom cut to meet user requirements. WL GORE & ASSOCIATES, INC., Newark, DE. (800) 445-4673.
