Groomed for consumer and portable apps, the LIS352AX MEMS-based, tri-axis accelerometer with absolute analog output operates with a supply voltage range of 2.16V to 3.6V. The device boasts high stability over a wide temperature range for both zero-g offset and sensitivity. With the offset drift, a.k.a., temperature variation, around ± 0.3 mg/°C, the sensor is reportedly one of the most stable devices on the market, eliminating the need for further temperature compensation. Residing in a 3 mm x 5 mm x 1 mm plastic package, the LIS352AX promises an accurate output across a full-scale range of ±2g and provides immunity to vibration and shock up to 10,000g. Additionally, a built-in self-test capability allows users to verify sensor functions after design assembly. Samples of the LIS352AX are available now, with volume production starting in June. Pricing is $1.3 each/10,000. STMICROELECTRONICS, Lexington, MA. (888) 787-3550.
