With off-state current leakage of just 10 nA, up to 99% lower than existing devices, the PVN013 and PVG613 single-pole, normally-open solid-state relays (SSRs) are expected to hasten the pace at which such relays replace electromechanical relays (EMRs) in scientific instrumentation, PLCs, indicators, and industrial automation. The lower leakage current reduces measurement errors in electronic instrumentation and eliminates most unnecessary current fault shut-down conditions due to leakage current in safety control circuits. The PVN013 can switch up to 4.5A dc-only and 2.5 Aac/dc at up to 20V, while the PVG613 can handle up to 2A dc-only and up to 1 Aac/dc at up to 60V. The microelectronic relays require as little as 3 to 5 mA to actuate, are directly CMOS- or TTL-compatible, do not require open collector or buffer stage drive circuits, and are smaller and consume less power than typical EMRs.
