A new case system consists of 48 separate components. When these components are combined, the Datec-Terminal-Case can be configured into a variety of different desktop and wall-mount enclosures. Typical applications include data collection machines, access and security controls, monitoring devices, communications equipment, industrial control systems and point-of-sale terminals. The Datec-Terminal range consists of four basic housings with dimensions of 5.12" x 7.09" x 3.38", 10.35" x 7.08" x 3.38", 6.61" x 10.71" x 3.98", and 11.89" x 10.71" x 3.98", molded in off-white ABS, or customized colors on request. The case can be sealed up to IP 54 protection class. Front covers for the enclosures are designed in solid ABS, or transparent polycarbonate. These covers can be hinged with or without a quick-action lock and key lock, making the unit useful as a wall unit.
