Low closure forces of 8 lb./ft. at 30% defection and high shielding effectiveness of 85 dB at 10 kHz to 1 GHz is claimed for Ultra-Soft Knit, a new line of low-force nylon EMI gaskets. Constructed of new metallized nylon yarn over a flame-retardant, UL 94 HF-1 approved low-density polyester foam core, the new gaskets also feature smooth, non-abrasive surfaces along with self-terminating ends. And they also are available with various finishes to assure galvanic compatibility.
