Designed for use in ultrasound cable assemblies, Comfort Cable claims to help alleviate pain and discomfort reported by sonographers while handling transducers during exams. This technology has 40 AWG or 42 AWG true coaxes in 112 to 208 count configurations with outside diameters as small as 7.3 mm and weighing as little as 77g per meter. The cable’s limpness adds low resistance to movement and flexes easily in any direction. The coaxes have been tested to exceed 1,000,000 flex cycles. The construction of the cables using true coaxes minimizes capacitance variation and supports improved contrast resolution especially at high frequencies.
