Suitable for digital still-image and video cameras, the ICM-110T 3-Mpixel CMOS image sensor is a pin-for-pin, drop-in replacement for the ICM-108B 1.3-Mpixel and ICM-109T 2-Mpixel sensors. The new CMOS sensor is fabed using a 0.25-µm process that is credited with the sensor’s reduced size and power requirements. The device draws less than 50 mA at 3.3V in standby mode, under 60 mA at 6 fps, and less than 100 mA at 12 fps. A dual-voltage power scheme is used - 2.5V for the circuit and 3.3V for the sensor array - to ensure maximum dynamic range. The sensor's 2,048 x 1,536 sensor array operates at up to 12 fps with sub-sampled quarter and quarter-quarter (1/16) resolutions. Operation at higher frame rates is in a progressive manner. The array also provides register selectable frame rates of 12, 6, 4.3, 2.1, 1.8, 1.2, 0.9 and 0.42 fps. Correlated double sampling is performed by an 11-bit A/D converter and timing circuitry; output is 10-bit raw data. Available in an LCC48 package, the ICM-110T sensor costs $12.50 each/10K.
