Providing thermoelectric cooling and heating protection on demand, these solid-state units are housed in NEMA 12, 4 and 4X electronic enclosures. The systems come in 400, 800 and 1,500 BTU/hr. sizes and are claimed to have a number of distinct advantages over CFC-based compressor systems. There are no harmful CFCs to leak or to be periodically replenished; the systems have low levels of noise, vibration and maintenance; and they are compact in size and weight and have lower power requirements.
