Exploiting MEMS technology, LIS244ALH two-axis accelerometer and LIS344ALH for three-axis applications come in LGA packages measuring 4 mm x 4 mm x 1.5 mm and provide a full-scale range, selectable between ±2g or ±6g. Their analog outputs provide direct measurements to external circuitry, allowing users to optimize external filtering and a/d conversion. Output circuitry is factory calibrated for sensitivity and zero-g level and the devices include a self-test function that verifies both the MEMS sensor and the electrical interface chip are working up to spec. Other shared features include an operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C and shock survivability up to 10 kg. High-volume prices for the LIS244ALH and LIS344ALH are $1.30 and $1.60 each, respectively. STMICROELECTRONICS, Lexington, MA. (781) 861-2650.
