As the edge transitions of clock signals in today's high-speed microprocessor systems grow ever faster, interconnection lines behave increasingly as transmission lines that must be properly terminated to prevent reflections from occurring- reflections can cause ringing, lower tolerable noise margins, and other problems. One of the latest products developed that reportedly effectively deal with this condition is the PAC TF Series of integrated clock termination and filter circuits. Designed specifically for the PC market, the 24-pin QSOPs can replace discrete solutions of up to 16 components and enhance system reliability by eliminating interconnects.
