A ruggedized, convection cooled, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) Air Transport Rack (ATR) complies with ARINC specification 404A and is available with dimensions of 190.5 mm wide x 498.3 mm long x 269.7 mm high. Hold down hooks at the front panel and rear dowel receptacles provide the means to mount the enclosure to a standard ARINC404A tray. The hard-mounted top-loading card frame accommodates up to five convection-cooled 6U VME Eurocards and an integral rugged backplane interfaces directly with rear panel mounted I/O connectors. All PCBs are conformally coated. The rack's 3 mm thick welded aluminum chassis and locking fasteners that hold EMC gaskets to all external removable panels ensure a rugged construction that meets the demanding requirements of avionics, military and land mobile applications.
