\[August 3, 2006\] Lauded as the industry's most robust, intrinsically safe linear position sensor in its class, the X111 from Positek operates safely in oil and gas exploration, production, transportation, heavy equipment, explosive environments, and factory automation applications. The component meets EEX ia IIC TA standards (TA = -40°C to +80ºC), which is the equivalent of US Class 1, Div 1, Groups B, C, and D. Operating in the 50-mm to 800-mm measurement range, the sensor, similar to other X series members, offers a variety of mounting configurations. Teaming with BX Series galvanic barriers, the X111 delivers either a 0.5 to 9.5 Vdc or 4 mA to 20 mA analog output that indicates the absolute position immediately on power up. Other features include a virtually infinite life span, output stability over a wide temperature range, stainless steel bodies with IP65 to IP68 sealing, and EMC protection.
