Protecting equipment that interfaces with ac power mains, the PAC series bi-directional line protectors are essentially avalanche breakdown diodes capable of withstanding a maximum peak pulse current in excess of 10 kA using an 8/20 µs waveform.

Protecting equipment that interfaces with ac power mains, the PAC series bi-directional line protectors are essentially avalanche breakdown diodes capable of withstanding a maximum peak pulse current in excess of 10 kA using an 8/20 µs waveform. The line protectors are available in radial lead packages with 0.05" diameter leads on 0.79" to 0.934" centers and in voltage ratings from 90 to 240 Vac. The devices meet and exceed current surge requirements of IEC 61000-4-5 (Level 4) and ANSI/IEEE C62.41 Category C3. They also meet IEC 61000-4-4 EFT and IEC 61000-4-2 ESD requirements. Price is $49.07 each/1,000. For more details, call David Hutchins at PROTEK DEVICES, Tempe, AZ. (602) 414-5107.
