Constructed using advanced multilayer technology with a three-terminal structure, the NFM18P electromagnetic-interference (EMI) filter reduces the effects of equivalent series inductance (ESL). The ESL of the NFM18P filter is 10 times less than that of a standard monolithic capacitor. Reduced ESL enables high-performance noise suppression up to the gigahertz range. The surface-mount filter's high 2-A rated current and large 1-µF capacitance yield large insertion loss over a wide frequency range. The filter suppresses noise in digital equipment applications such as dc power lines and the power line of a high-speed IC. Another feature is its size, as it comes in the ultra-small 0603 size package. Available now, samples of the NFM18P are priced at $0.10 each.
