Boasting of exceptionally high attenuation of differential and common-mode noise at currents up to 20A, FN 9246 IEC inlet filters are expected to find wide use in fast-switching applications, such as switch-mode power supplies and UPSs. Claimed to offer performance similar to that of chassis-mount units, the new small-form-factor filters embrace eight different models rated from 1A to 20A and range in size from 35 x 75 mm for 16A and 20A units to 30 x 47 mm for the lower current units. The filters have built-in captive mounting nuts and fit directly on the inside face of a panel for fast installation. They are IEC 950 compliant and have a max. operating voltage of 250 vac at 50/60 Hz and an operating frequency range of dc to 400 Hz.
