With fundamental frequencies from 12 to 67 MHz and a tolerance of ±50 ppm at 25°C, the 4SMX series of ultraminiature surface-mount crystals are designed to provide the clock frequency in portable designs, such as PC card interfaces for notebook computer peripherals and mobile communications. Because no frequency selection circuits are required to extract the third overtone, the component count when using the 4SMX is less than for comparable devices. Measuring only 5 x 3.2 x 0.8 mm, the crystals are hermetically sealed with glass in ceramic cases. Frequency stability is ±100 ppm over an operating temperature range of -10°C to 60°C.
