Microprocessors nested in ZIF sockets, including Socket-7 ZIF and the new 370-pin ZIF versions, can be kept running cool with a new fan-and-heatsink unit that is available with push-pin attachments and interface material. The fan offers a 20,000-hour (continuous) operating life span and uses a dual feed-through, four-pin connector that connects easily to the power supply-longer life fans and different connector options also are available. The cooling unit attaches to the socket with a clip, with the heatsink featuring a locking rail to further reduce the chances of movement.
