Simplified design for optical disk drives such as DVD players for the consumer market and DVD-ROM and DVD-recordable drives for PC data storage are said to be made possible by the EL6200C, an oscillator with a maximum frequency of 450 MHz. Maximum amplitude value for the monolithic device is a 100-mA peak-to-peak signal level. Both oscillator frequency range and amplitude range are independently adjustable using two chip resistors. The chip is said to provide simple, easy-to-use operation. The high degree of flexibility in oscillator frequency and amplitude enables users to achieve peak performance in their systems.
