Smart Optical Sensor Has Self-Teaching Mode

A built-in, microprocessor-based teaching mode enables the 6K subminiature optical sensor to learn the difference between target and background, even when the target is moving at line speed. The self-teaching mode can be activated remotely for a group of sensors with a single pushbutton, or automatically by machine control. This eliminates the need for operators to find hidden sensors and manually jog the machine while setting pots for each product change.The optical sensors are available in all popular sensing modes, including diffuse, retroreflective and thru-beam. In addition, electronic background suppression and clear-object detection capabilities are offered.The units operate from 10 to 30 vdc and are short-circuit and reverse-polarity protected.
