A line of fiber-optic modules is available for Z-PACK 2-mm HM connectors used in CompactPCI and other industry-standard backplanes. The modules enable design of high-density backplane I/O in a standard format. They use Mini-SC plug connectors on the daughtercard side and will mate with standard MU cable assemblies or the firm's MSC cable assemblies on the backplane side. The modules are Type A-compatible guided modules that accommodate either eight MSC connectors or four MSC connectors and 55 signal contacts. The MSC connectors are available in both singlemode and multimode versions with PC or APC end finishes. Plugs float within housings and are self-aligning.
