Profiling software makes it possible to read six sides of a parcel using just five cameras, making high-speed CCD tunnels an affordable configuration for parcel sorting, retail/wholesale distribution, mail order distribution and parcel OCR reading. The AV3700 can read linear and 2D symbols omnidirectionally at conveyor speeds up to 600 fpm. The PC-based decoder runs under Windows NT 4.0, and the open architecture system can communicate via Ethernet or any NT-compatible LAN.
