Designed to provide reliable position sensing even in dirty industrial, automotive and commercial applications, OHS3150U linear Hall-effect sensor has a ratiometric voltage output proportional to an applied magnetic field. The device uses a quadratic Hall sensing element and temperature compensation circuits to allow use in high temperatures often present in industrial and automotive applications. The output voltage decreases in proportion to the strength of a magnetic north pole and increases in proportion to the strength of a magnetic south pole over an operating temperature range of -40°C to 150°C. The sensors can be used to sense rotary position, linear position, or used in current sensing applications. They can be sealed against contamination in dirty environments and can be used in rotary braking systems, for speed and position measurement of encoder wheels and gears, for end travel detection, and for vane position measurement.
