Said to be the world's smallest true SMT quartz crystal resonators, the CC5 series comes in a micro-miniature, hermetically-sealed, ceramic package that measures just 4.1 mm (0.32") high x 1.5 mm (0.06") wide x 0.85 mm (0.033") deep. Delivering a 32.768 kHz frequency, the crystal is designed for small handheld wireless products, such as cell phones and smart cards. The crystals require a drive level of only 1 mW with ±3 ppm aging typical. Frequency tolerance is ±-30 ppm. The component's standard operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C. Other features of the CC5 resonators include shock resistance of 5000g/0.3 ms, vibration resistance of 10 to 2000 Hz/20g, an ability to withstand processing temperatures up to 260°C for 20 seconds, and tape-and-reel packaging. Cost is $1.66 each/100K. Engineering samples are available.
