Representng the package size used in the cell phone industry, this new 5 x 7-mm temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) is being targeted at the wireless market in China—the TCXOs are being made in the company's facility in Tianjin, China. The packaging technology allows for double-stacked component construction, enabling more components to fit into a smaller footprint. The platform is said to give handset manufacturers frequency vs. temperature performance on the order of ±1 ppm, which increases cell phone reliability. An additional benefit is the device's low current drain, which extends battery life. Samples are available.
