Small enough to be hand held, the CLV 420 barcode scanner performs 400 to 1,200 scans per second and is said to be the most powerful bar code scanner of its size on the market. Encased in a rugged zinc die cast housing, the scanner integrates a CAN Bus interface that allows users to network a number of scanners without without the need to install additional hardware. Employing the company’s automatic triggering technology, the scanner automatically senses a package to activate the bar code reading process. A Windows-based software package is included that features a user-friendly, stand-alone program. The software program guides the user through complete scanner configuration. All parameters, including minimum reading distance, bar code resolution, scan frequency, bar code label specifications, and date format are software selectable to optimize the performance of the scanner for specific applications. Typical applications for the CLV 420 include material handling, document handling, packaging, and industrial electronics. For further information and price, call SICK, INC., Minneapolis, MN.
