Lauded as a ground-breaker, the E3Z-LS programmable, diffuse photoelectric sensor provides both foreground and background suppression, reportedly a first for such devices. The background suppression function is for use where the background can cause false detection, while the foreground suppression function is used for detecting targets with shiny or irregular surfaces. The photo sensor exhibits a black and white error of 10% and, for alignment, it emits a visible beam and employs an algorithm to minimize the effects of external light interference.
