A new high-performance radio frequency crystal oscillator has been designed with exceptionally low jitter and phase noise, allowing for full use of the allotted bandwidth in a system, as well as lower bit rate errors in optical data communications. The RFV300 series has a phase jitter at less than 0.5 ps and comes in frequencies from 600 MHz to 1.25 GHz. It is useful for applications such as SONET, SDH, ATM, and WAN. Housed in an industry-standard 7.5 mm x 5.0 mm x 1.5 mm ceramic package, the RFV300 series has a standard operating temperature of –20°C to +70°C, with an extended temperature range of –40°C to +85°C. The RFV300 comes with frequency stabilities of ±50 ppm, ±25 ppm, and ±20 ppm. In addition, it comes in 3.3V or 2.5V versions and has LV-PECL complementary outputs. Output symmetry is 45% to 55% at 50% Vdd over the frequency range. Pricing for a RFV300 oscillator at 622.08 MHz starts at $25/1,000. FOX ELECTRONICS, Fort Myers, FL. (888) 438-2369.
