Described as a high-performance voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), the CVCO55BE-2974-3274 generates frequencies between 2.974 GHz and 3.274 GHz with a control voltage range of 0.5V to 4.5V. Operating with a 5V input and consuming 17 mA, the component exhibits an output power of 5 dBm ±3 dBm into a 50W load and operates in temperatures from −40°C to +85°C. Second harmonic suppression is better than −20 dBc while maximum supply pushing is 1.5 MHz/V. Other features include a phase-noise performance of −70 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset, −98 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz, −120 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz, and −155 dBc/Hz at 10 MHz offset. In a 0.5" x 0.5" SMD package, price starts at $12.95 each/1,000. For more information, contact John Shoemake at CRYSTEK CRYSTALS CORP., Fort Myers, FL. (800) 237-3061.
