A new air filter has been developed to protect electronic components that depend on forced air thermal management to keep them cool and functioning. The Tough air filter is designed to withstand harsh environments, including those where high temperature, high humidity, chemicals or solvents are present. They optimize reliable forced air thermal management and can provide EMI/RFI shielding along with particulate protection for electronics equipment used in both indoor and outdoor environments. The filter incorporates Quadrafoam II media, a coated polyether urethane formulation that is more rigid than typical filter materials to sustain its open-pored cellular structure and maintain performance characteristics despite the presence of heat and moisture. Chromated, epoxy powder-coated or anodized aluminum frames and grid systems are said to complement the sturdiness and longevity of Tough air filters for harsh environments. The company meets the following standards and classifications: MIS 20189E; UL 94 HF-1; UL 900 Class 2, CE; Telcordia NEBS GR-78-CORE and GR-63- CORE; and FMVSS 302. Prototypes are routinely produced and sent to customers within five working days. UNIVERSAL AIR FILTER CO., Sauget, IL. (800) 541-3478.
