A new sensing bumper has been designed for use on AGVs, moving work platforms, mobile conveyors, and other moving equipment. Named Hercules, the bumper is suited for very wet or very dirty conditions and can be used indoor or out. It is encapsulated in a polyurethane shell that meets MIL-STD-810E salt fog requirements and is resistant to many common industrial chemicals, lubricants, and solvents. Its surface is crush-resistant, impact-resistant, and abrasion-resistant. Sensitivity is 20 to 30 lbs., depending on the model. Designed in widths of 4" and 7", heights up to 18", and lengths up to 16’, the bumper includes fail-safe wiring and simple bolt-on installation.
