Mixing FR5 PCB and SAW crystal technology, the CVCSO-914-1000 voltage-controlled saw oscillator (VCSO) delivers an output frequency up to 1 GHz and a phase noise spec of -135 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz. Operating from a 5V supply, the component comes in a 9 mm x 14 mm SMT package and generates a true sine wave with a minimum output power of 7dBm and APR pullability of ±50 ppm. Additionally, it exhibits no sub harmonics and a second harmonic of -20 dBc typical. With an operating temperature range from -20°C to 70°C, typical applications include PLL-frequency translation, test and measurement, avionics, point-to-point and multi-point radios, and telecomm. Price is $125 each in small volumes. CRYSTEK CRYSTALS CORP., Fort Myers, FL. (800) 237-3061.
