Broadening the company's available low-g inertial sensor devices, which target a myriad of consumer electronics and applications, the MMA6271QT and the MMA6281QT MEMS-based, dual-axes accelerometers are suitable candidates for applications ranging from home appliances to cellular telephones. These devices provide users with a selectable 2.5g to 10g range, which allows each to support multiple functions, and they measure 6 mm x 6 mm x 1.45 mm in lead-free, 16-lead QFN packages. Other shared features include an operating current consumption of 500 µA, sleep mode current of 3 µA, operating voltage range from 2.2V to 3.6V, power-up response time of 1 ms, and integrated signal conditioning, amplification, and temperature compensation with low-pass filters. Prices for the MMA-6271QT (XY-axis) and MMA6281QT (XZ-axis) are $4.03 and $4.33 each/10,000, respectively. For further information and availability, call FREESCALE SEMICONDUCTOR INC., Austin, TX.
