The latest MediaGuard family of port protection devices for HDMI 1.3 connectors integrates ESD, back-drive and over-current protection, voltage level shifting, active DDC pull ups, and CEC slew-rate limiting. The CM2030 and CM2031 multifunction application-specific integrated passive devices support the latest advanced HDMI 1.3 capabilities including higher speeds, as well as CEC enhancements and extended length cable support. The CM2030 targets source applications such as DVD recorders and set top boxes, while the CM2031 fits receiver applications, i.e., digital TVs. Both provide low-capacitance ESD protection for 12 data lines, and feature what may be the industry’s lowest capacitance (0.9 pF) ESD diode arrays. In 38-pin TSSOP packages, prices for the CM2030 and CM2031 are $1.31 and $1.29 each/1,000, respectively. CALIFORNIA MICRO DEVICES CORP., Milpitas, CA. (800) 325-4966.
