The company's latest air-temperature sensor relies on a snap-in design with a special clip that reportedly allows it to accelerate thermal response and monitoring accuracy within an enclosure. This approach forgoes the traditional surface mounting of temperature sensor directly to sheet metal. The sensor integrates a fast-response thermistor element within a potted metal housing that snaps into a 0.3" diameter hole. This keeps the sensor off the sheet metal while the plastic molded body with strain relief separates the assembly from the environment on the back. Other features include standard resistance values ranging from 2,252 to 10,000 at 25°C with a variety of thermistor values and curves, compatibility with 14 to 18 gauge sheet metal, and 10 ' AWG 22, PVC-insulated leads. Price is $5.25 each/1,000. SPECTRUM SENSORS & CONTROLS INC., St. Marys, PA. (814) 834-1541.
