Measuring 9 mm x 8 mm, the UPSICAP range of passive and active sensors measure ambient temperature and relative humidity offer a wider operating range than previously available: 0% to 100% RH and -90°C to +85°C. Their passive elements vary capacitance with humidity and resistance with temperature and are interchangeable without recalibration. Employing a patented, four-layer construction, condensation and water immersion reportedly have no effect on accuracy or the sensors' response time of 0.25s. Versions are available for humidity only or humidity and temperature. Output frequency varies with humidity from 7.2k Hz to 5.8 kHz and temperature and modules are available with 4 mA to 20 mA outputs. Available in May, price is under $3 each in quantity.
