A 0.25-in., 5-Mpixel image sensor, the OV5647 supports HD video in mobile devices using 1.4-micron OmniBSI backside illumination (BSI) technology

A 0.25-in., 5-Mpixel image sensor, the OV5647 supports HD video in mobile devices using 1.4-micron OmniBSI backside illumination (BSI) technology. The device delivers a low light sensitivity of 680-mV/lux-sec and sports a low profile z-height. It enables 720p HD video at 60 fps and 1080p HD video at 30 fps while providing complete user control over formatting and output-data transfers. Additionally, a post-binning re-sampling filter function removes image artifacts around edges and minimizes spatial artifacts. Sampling now, the OV5647 enters mass production in July.
