The Fiber Monitor boasts the ability to monitor optical fibers in real-time without interrupting network activity.

The Fiber Monitor boasts the ability to monitor optical fibers in real-time without interrupting network activity. Employing patented correlation optical time delay reflectometry (C-OTDR) technology for greater sensitivity and precision than conventional OTDR systems, the unit is able to instantly identify a wide variety of common issues including broken fibers, degraded connections, plus data theft and tapping attempts. Each chassis can monitor up to 16 active or dark fiber lines simultaneously at maximum distances up to 60 miles. The unit connects to installed optical networks without requiring any rerouting or additional cabling within the data center and its web-based monitoring software is accessible from any location.
