CRO Performs Frequency Doubling

June 30, 2010
The CVCO55CXT-5800-5800 coaxial resonator oscillator (CRO) employs frequency doubling, a 2x fundamental technology to boost performance levels of low phase noise and harmonics while minimizing current consumption.

The CVCO55CXT-5800-5800 coaxial resonator oscillator (CRO) employs frequency doubling, a 2x fundamental technology to boost performance levels of low phase noise and harmonics while minimizing current consumption. It operates at 5,800 MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0.5 Vdc to 4.5 Vdc. The coaxial VCO features a typical phase noise of -100 dBc/Hz at a 10-kHz offset, 0.5” x 0.5” SMD package, an output power of +3 dBm into a 50? load, a supply voltage of 8 Vdc, typical current consumption of 35 mA, and pulling and pushing figures of 1 MHz and 3 MHz/V, respectively. Second harmonic suppression is -30 dBc typical. CRYSTEK CORP., Fort Myers, FL. (800) 237-3061.
