Heat Sinks Take Advantage Of Micro-Porous Ceramic

Exploiting the open, irregular structure of micro-porous ceramic, the MPCHS heat sinks provide a greater surface area to contact with the air compared to metal. The material structure, in turn, enables overall better heat dissipation and convection properties, dissipating heat faster than metal heat sinks without storing heat within itself. Compared to traditional copper and aluminium components, the heat sinks employ the lowest thermal capacity material in unit volume. Additionally, the surface area of the MPCHS is greater than metal heat sinks by around 30%. They are available in two design types, either flat or wave, with a wide range of standard sizes that include 10 mm x 10 mm x 2 mm, 20 mm x 20 x 2.5 mm, 30 mm x 30 mm x 2.5 mm, 40 mm x 40 mm x 2.5 mm, 30 mm x 30 mm x 5 mm, and 40 mm x 40 mm x 5 mm. Custom configurations are possible upon request. Amec Thermasol, Norfolk, UK. +44(0)1493 668622.
