Entering the smart phone arena, the OV8820 1/3.2-inch, 8-Megapixel RAW CMOS image sensor employs OmniVision’s 1.4-micron OmniBSI pixel architecture.

Entering the smart phone arena, the OV8820 1/3.2-inch, 8-Megapixel RAW CMOS image sensor employs OmniVision’s 1.4-micron OmniBSI pixel architecture. It delivers frame rates of 30 fps (1,080p) and 60 fps (720p) with electronic image stabilization and full horizontal field of view. It also offers support for YouTube and Facebook apps. In full 8-Megapixel (3,264 x 2,448) resolution, the OV8820 operates at 24 fps in a 4:3 format and in 6-Megapixel (3,264 x 1,836) resolution at 30 fps in a 16:9 format. Other features include a scaler and 2 x 2 binning functionality with a post-binning re-sampling filter function. The OV8820 is available for sampling now. OMNIVISION TECHNOLOGIES INC., Sunnyvale, CA.
