MEMS Sensor Strengthens Shock Tolerance

Designed for high-rate angular velocity, the microelectromechanical system (MEMS) sensor uses a resonating gyro to discern angular rates by measuring deflections in the sensing element that occur when rotational forces are applied.

Diversified Technical Systems (DTS) enhanced its ARS PRO sensor to tolerate higher shock and vibration. Designed for high-rate angular velocity, the microelectromechanical system (MEMS) sensor uses a resonating gyro to discern angular rates by measuring deflections in the sensing element that occur when rotational forces are applied. Features of the device include dc response, low-power requirements, a compact form factor, and high reliability. All ARS PRO models are linear over the rated range, complying with SAE and ISO for frequency response. Full-scale ranges extend from ±300 to ±50,000 degrees/second. Bandwidths reach up to 2000 Hz. CFC 180, 600, and 1000 testing requirements are fully supported.
